The third day of the 57thNational Pharmacy Week was celebrated by organizing street play competition on the theme ‘Pharmacist for a healthy India’ . The Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry took over the responsibility of coordinating for the event which had participation from students of B. Pharm, Pharm D and D. Pharm courses. The competition took place between 12:00 to 1:00 pm outside the campus cafeteria for the other department students and faculties to watch.
Total of 4 groups participated comprising of students from III B. Pharm, IV B. Pharm, II pharm. D & II D. Pharm. The students used uised the play to emphasize on the usee medicines responsibly, role and responsibility of pharmacist to the society in the areas of prevention and management of disease, preparation, manufacturing, research and dispensing of medicines, academics, hospitals, community and regulations.
Information pamphlets on role of pharmacists in diverse area of healthcare was distributed amongst the public belonging to different sectors of education like commerce, arts, physiotherapy, nursing at the end of the program to help them understand how pharmacists can contribute to a healthy India.
