AIDS awareness session at Deens Academy, ECC Campus

The first AIDS epidemic was reported in 1981; today, more than 3 decades later HIV and AIDS still remain as stigma in the society; social isolation and discrimination are cruel reality in the patients’ lives.
A report by UNAIDS states that worldwide about 4,500 new HIV cases are reported among young adults of age 15years and above on a daily basis. Moreover, Young generation is our ray of hope for a better tomorrow. It is, hence, our duty as educationalists to ensure that we keep our youngsters updated on the various social issues and stigma that need to be banished from the society for the benefit of mankind. A team of staff and volunteers from Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy, therefore, decided to conduct AIDS awareness session at Deens Academy for the students of grade 9 and 10.
The session was held on 3rd of December 2018 in continuation with the vibes of World AIDS Day observance this year. Total of 200 students from 5 sections each of grade 9 and 10 attended the session. To keep the interest of the audience intact, the session was divided into educational play, a story narration and technical presentation. The students took active part in the Q/A segments that were tactfully placed in-between the sessions.
The Krupanidhi family extends a heartfelt gratitude to the management and faculty of Deens Academy for joining hands with us in this noble cause. The students at Deens Academy are shining stars already and it was a pleasure to interact with them.
